The freedom to create your own look
Men are getting cosmetic surgery to compete in the workplace, feel better about physical shortcomings and improve their love lives, doctors say. Although it’s becoming more common, men who readjust their bodies are still in the minority and remain very private about it. More men in the mid to late 30’s are hitting the treadmills to stay fit and more youthful. Nationally statistics show a substantial jump in male patients. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the total percentage of cosmetic procedures performed on men grew by 16 percent between 2007 and 2009.
With the focus on enhancing their looks some men have started to shave or have removed from a majority of their body. There are now more advanced home laser hair removal systems and techniques that can be used by both men and women who are looking to get rid of unwanted body hair. Men that venture down this path are sometimes referred to as Metro Sexuals because they tend to be more concerned with their looks and style than a normal male.
