Keeping security abroad

Published by under Blogging,Liberty

To highlight his point we were just reading an article about the South Korean police force having to find a more secure way to identify their 100,000 officers that could not be easily duplicated. They went to a registered hologram technology that is next to impossible to copy and is encoded specifically for their police force. They decided to print the cards internally to prevent any counterfeiting of ID badges. Many of the outfits that do this use the HP Laserjet print cartridge printers in order to reduce duplication and have a longer lasting image that can be scanned and worn in the field. Since the newly registered can’t be copied or reproduced by conventional printers or scanners this gave them a high level of security. They also included a color photo of the officer and essential information for the id card holders.

Because of the cost savings that they would realize they installed printers centrally and throughout the 22 provinces to be able to print on demand and then have them networked together so that a central database could be used and monitored. The South Korean police expect to print somewhere between 35K-60K cards annually and look to install chips in the cards to help restrict access to controlled areas. You could also expect them to buy lanyards in large quantities which will help display the badges more prominently for civilians and other law enforcement officials to be easily recognize those on the force.

The liberty to travel

Published by under Blogging,Liberty

What are your thoughts on Hawaii? Is this tiny group of islands in the Pacific the perfect place to take the family on vacation or is Hawaii more for people that have just tied the knot? There’s two places I have always wanted to go to. One is Las Vegas and the other is Hawaii. I would have my concerns with the tsunamis that exist in the Pacific Ocean, but it just seems like such a magical place. It probably wasn’t like that on December 7th, back in 1941, when Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese. I think the tiny islands have all recovered since then and Hawaii is one of the top tourist destinations for Americans.

I guess my travels to Hawaii will be done as a vacation for me adn looking for Expedia coupons will be a way to help reduce the cost of part of my trip. I would hope to make a trip there before I get married, because that might still be a long time away. Maybe I can just hop on a plane and go to Vegas and Hawaii on the same trip. I think that is called killing 2 birds with one stone. If I did do both on the same trip, I could give a good comparision and decide which place is best. If I had to pick only one place to travel to for right now, I would certainly choose Hawaii over Las Vegas.

Control what you can

Published by under Blogging

I like to hear about all the advances in hair replacement these days.  There are many of us who are suffering from itchy scalp which could be a precursor to hair and scalp damage. There use to be two ways to handle hair loss and for many of us going to the hair piece is not an option. Accept it gracefully and go on with your natural appearance or to get a toupee or some sort of wig to cover up those bald spots. Fortunately to the people out there now that are losing their hair, or will soon be losing their hair, there is better alternatives.

I’m not sure about all the latest studies on all the drugs that people use to naturally grow hair, but I know they exist. Another way to cover the balding areas is with a Hair Transplant. I think the modern ways of covering up those shinny spots on our heads is so much better than the older days. I guess women are lucky they don’t have to worry about this problem, but then again we don’t have to shave our legs, so maybe it’s all fair at the end of the day!

The right to be heard

Published by under Liberty

complaintsPolitical theorists often vary in opinion as to the role that government should play in manís life. One political theorist, John Locke, wrote Two Treatises of Government in 1682, which was a key work for the American revolutionaries who eventually founded a government based largely upon Lockeís ideas. It is in Locke’s Second Treatise that he recognized that for any legitimate government to exist it must derive its authority from the consent of the governed. Furthermore, the authority of any government is only legitimate so long as it exists to protect the private property of its citizens. This makes sense because it does not make sense that any person should desire to place himself under the authority of another for any reason other then his own protection.

The right to life is an umbrella statement which, at its root, ìencompasses all things that your liberty allows you “including the free exercise of your mental faculties” (Edwards, R. Abe: Who Was Thaddeus Kosciusko?) Today there are ways to write a complaint letter that give you the ability to be heard. Similarly, the right to property may be defined as the right to own the fruit of your labor, or as Locke more aptly put it “…the condition of Human Life, which requires Labour [sic] and Materials to work on, necessarily introduces private possessions” (Second Treatise, Chapter 5, section 35.) Liberty is a consequence of the right to life (though the opposite may also be argued) and embodies the right of the individual to do as he pleases so long as he keeps from infringing upon the life, liberty or property of any other individual.

Playing games online with your friends

Published by under Blogging,Technology

I think some of the neatest games online is the ones you can share with people that might be in another state or even another country. It’s really cool to see how some of these games let players interact with each other from all over the world. Facebook has been one of the places that we go to online to play cards against friends since it is free and you can challenge each other. There are different ways that you can get facebook poker chips such as purchasing additional chips however I prefer to win most of mine from my friends. Who ever was the first one to think of this, really did hit the nail on the head. It has been popular right from the start and its only gaining as new gamers come online and discover how they too can play with friends, co workers and strangers that might be located thousands and thousands of miles away.

poker2Do you currently play an online computer game where you get to interact with people all over the world? If you do, please be sure to let me know what the game is. Also, give me an idea on how much it might cost and if there is any monthly fees or extra charges I have to pay, so I can interact with other people on the computer. I know I have a surfing team online and we have members on our team from all over the world. It’s pretty cool how we all strive for the same thing and try to earn as many advertising credits as possible, so we can promote our online interests. I have really learned a lot since January on how other cultures think, talk and some types of food they eat. I have certainly been learning more about the world I live in and it’s because of the internet and the ability it has to let me speak to people from all over the world. So if you have a game that allows you to chat with others from around the globe, be sure to let me know what game this is too. You may also feel free to share any stories you may have about meeting another person online that lives many miles away from you and some of the things your new online friend has taught you. I look forward to reading your replies and perhaps I can get one of these video games that allow me to interact with people from all over the world.

The social media experiment

Published by under Marketing

socialmedia In order to test the social media waters many companies and individuals are creating pages and gaining followers in order to brand themselves.  There are small business owners and CFO’s of large companies like Samuel Foti who are bridging the gap between social media and business networking. This is all about creating the links and buzz to the advertisers site. All major companies have whole departments dedicated to creating top of mind awareness about their brand or service. Now there are specific companies that have been created to help collaborate the common blogster with some advertisers looking for some word of mouth.

Some have written that this pollutes the “Blogasphere”, but I beg to differ. For me it has helped me to pay more attention to my blog daily, and the posts are actually creating visitors, and yes even paying customers to some of my other offerings. I do not write about things that do not interest me, and I provide a disclaimer on my bog about such postings.

Touring on your bike in California

Published by under Marketing

People that ride motorcycles daily are a tight group of people. There’s no telling how many bike clubs or biker gangs you could find in Southern California, but these are people that just love riding their bikes. I would suggest someone wanting to purchase a motorcycle for the first time, contact one of these biker groups and weigh out the pros and cons of bike riding in California. It’s great that you want to own a motorcycle to save gas and prevent more harmful pollutions from going up in the air, but our road safety should be number 1 on everybody’s list. California has to be one of the best places in the country for motorcycle riders, but how safe can it be in an area that has such a booming growth rate?

biker_standAs the need for more safety around motorcycles continues to grow so does the need for better protective gear. Most enthusiasts will insist that the look of the bike from the motorcycle stands to the chrome wheels are the most important aspects of the bike, there also needs to be better visibility of the bikers on the road as this is one of the leading causes of accidents. There are some states that have started local campaigns especially through the summer months to make drivers aware that there are more bikes on the road.

Getting my sleep

Published by under Blogging

Well I went shopping for a new fan last night. I found a great little fan that for its size; it blows out a lot of air. It’s a metal fan and it set me back about 12 bucks. So for the cost and what it does, I am pleased with my purchase. There are so many different models that claim to be quiet and perform all sorts of tricks. I have noticed that even some of the newer Sealy mattresses are incorporating a Coolmax type product that actually helps to absorb your body heat and keep the mattress much cooler.

Now I like to have a breeze blowing on my face at night. Especially during the hot summer nights . I know some people just can’t sleep without a fan. It is something that you get use to. It’s not just the air that is constantly blowing over you, but the sound of the fan. The sound is a constant soothing noise that helps us to fall asleep. I got a real good night’s sleep last night, with my new small fan blowing in my face. I normally go with the normal size window fans that are made out of plastic, but this high velocity fan made out of metal works just as good. It doesn’t take up that much space either, so finding a place to put it, is much better than the bigger plastic fans.
