In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti in the past month or so, people and organizations worldwide used their cell phones to send text messages pledging more than $30 million for Haitian relief efforts, according to figures released Thursday by the Mobile Giving Foundation.

A number of relief groups have been added to the list of organizations that can receive text message donations from customers of the four main wireless carriers in the United States: Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.

Many of the carriers — including the four largest in America — have vowed to expedite donations to the American Red Cross and to other agencies. Normally, it could take 30 to 60 days to transfer the contributions from customers, which will be added to their mobile phone bills.

Verizon Wireless recently revealed in its “second transfer in a week” that it has transmitted $4.84 million to the American Red Cross, “representing additional dollars pledged by texting customers to the Red Cross relief effort for Haiti.” A  transfer of $2.98 million was previously made.

Americans have been donating money via text messages in $5 and $10 amounts to help Haiti relief agencies.

The American Red Cross is the largest benefactor of the effort so far. Other organizations receiving $5 and $10 donations include the Yele Haiti foundation; the International Rescue Committee; the International Medical Corps; and the Clinton Foundation Haiti Relief Fund.

In a matter of days, the mobile giving campaign has become a popular and easy way to donate to relief efforts, with all four major carriers backing the text-messaging donation campaign, saying customers will not be charged for text-messaging mobile donations. Smaller carriers around the world are also involved in the program.

The 2nd spot is a musician that has had many great videos. The artist is none other than Michael Jackson. Michael may not be cool now, but back in the 80′s he was the man! Michael wasn’t just the king of pop but he was also the king of videos. His Thriller video has worn many countdowns when it comes to these top music video countdowns. I decided not to put Thriller in my top ten music videos. Now he has a lot to choose from and some of his videos are more like a short movie. I decided to go with a video that really is Michael Jackson and this video is a classic. It’s really this video and the song that was above all of his other songs. At least for a time it was and when you heard the name Michael Jackson back in the 1980′s, this is usually the song that came to most people’s mind first. So turn up your speakers and listen to the 2nd greatest video ever!

Michael had the world eating out of his hands back then. This song Beat It won a Grammy for Michael Jackson back in 1982. The song was one of the leading songs on the multi-platinum album Thriller. The amazing guitar solo in this song was performed by the legendary Eddie Van Halen. The setting of this video shows 2 gangs getting ready to rumble and this was inspired by the West Side Story.

The song Beat It also got attention from Weird Al Yankovic and he redone the lyrics and the video to the song Eat It. You know you have made it big when Weird Al goes and remakes your song! Not only Weird Al, but Metallica and their towering Amplifiers created a lot of buzz at the 2003 MTV Music Awards and did a version of Beat It.

I am looking at a piece of property to buy and I went walking the land over today and I carried my two Jack Russell Terriers with me and we were driving thru on my rhino. I stopped down in a valley and looking around and let the dogs go hunting. In a few minuets they were raising cane, they had got on the scent of something, probably a rabbit or a deer, they were having a good time trying to stay on scent. After about a 20 min gig trying to find what it was they were ready to move on to the next adventure.

We got back in the rhino and up a big hill we went and we had to lock it in 4 wheel drive to get up the hill, when we got to the top it got a little squirrelly but all was well when we landed the front tires back on the ground. The land is hilly as you would assume from the ride , but it has a potential of becoming a beautiful piece of earth. Remove a few trees and take care of the underbrush and a little TLC and it will make a great home site. I don’t know if I will build on it or not but I will get it ready for a home, and in the years to come If I decide to get rid of it ,then I see a good profit coming my way from it. as you know having land is better than money in the bank, more profitable anyway.
